Our traditional family-style hotel is located in a charming 19th century building, once horse stables, in the heart of Carcassonne. This entirely renovated hotel is adjacent to the Canal du Midi.

The Aude hotel is located not far from the Narbonne-Vinassan North highway junction. After a restful and peaceful night, you will be served a delicious breakfast in an open and spacious dining-room.

Guests may discover the charm of this historic hotel, which is complimented by a diversity of modern amenities. The hotel was once three houses and now provides a comfortable base from which to enjoy the citadel of Carcassonne, which was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Donjon-Les Remparts, the House of the Ramparts and Trencavel's property are renowned for the elegant and charming architecture of the Middle Ages. Actually, this is one of the most visited towns of the Cathar region, located in the south of France. The hotel boasts friendly staff and warm decoration. Guests may choose from fifty-five rooms and seven suites, all of which are very elegant, sophisticated and individually styled. There is antique decoration with exposed stones or a range of contemporary styles. Rooms overlook either the towers of the citadel or the shady garden. If preferred, breakfast may be enjoyed in the comfort and privacy of guest accommodation. The hotel also offers a convention room for seminars accommodating up to twenty people. Take a break in the garden or shady terrace; relax during the warmest hours of the day. Then, try a cocktail, made to local specifications, in the hotel's bar or if you prefer, drink tea or coffee in the cosy lounge. During the summer, or high season, the access to the medieval Citadel is restricted so transport is sent to help guests access the hotel easily. Parking is available in the private lot, located only fifty metres (one hundred and sixty five feet) from the hotel. Parking is secure.

The hotel restaurant serves dinner from 7pm to 10pm, seven days a week, and lunch from noon to 2pm, seven days a week. A hearty buffet breakfast is served from 6.30am to 9am on weekdays, and from 8am to 10am at weekends and on public holidays. On your arrival, you will be welcomed by a couple of attentive hosts to ensure you have a pleasant stay.

All our rooms and suites have a unique, refined and charming decor. They are all fully equipped with modern amenities such as TV, mini-bar and a view over the Castle's Park. The most romantics will, no doubt, succumb to the temptation of a reading pause in the 'Bergère' drawing-room, decorated with painting realised by the Vicomte de Laguepie in 1762. Friendly atmosphere and feast for eyes in the restaurant 'Le Poète Disparu' where you will enjoy a gastronomic cooking and admire marvellous wood works and statuettes of the 17th century. Visit our bar, located in the recently created Victorian style veranda, where in the musical ambiance of a piano lounge you will able to sample the soft Muscats of the Minervois or the local wines of the Corbieres. In addition, to make you stay even more pleasant, we invite you to take advantage of the patio, the swimming pool and its solarium, the tennis-ground and the traditionnal French Garden.

For an overnight stay or weekend break the Château de Saint Michel de Lanes is the ideal place to stay : relaxing and full of historic charm. Although you could easily lose yourself in the maze of rooms, only the three prettiest bedrooms, as well as three drawing rooms - all beautifully restored -are reserved for you. Our guests all agree that this Occitan manor welcomes you with a warm smile! At Saint Michel de Lanes castle, charm and poetry await you under the impassive stare of the stone godesses high above the entrance. Our village also surprises its visitors with its mix of impressive houses, parks open to the public and private gardens which stretch along its lanes.

You have the choice between several apartments, simply furnished and with terrace and shower/wc, or three bedrooms with shared bathroom, for guests on a more modest budget. For groups, there is a fully-equipped dormitory which sleeps eight people. You can relax in the library, round the fireplace in the lounge or in the clubhouse, which offers panoramic views of the Domaine and further afield. All this is before you taste our cuisine... rich, typical of the region, of course, and designed to delight the most discerning palates.
