We have all learnt the song of the 'Pont d'Avignon' in school - here you can see with your own eyes the remains of this monument, with four of its former 17 arches still standing. Avignon is a major touristic site in southern France, but also an important centre of wine trading. Parks with noble old trees invite for a stroll providing magnificent views, or you can make excursions to Arles, Nimes, and the Camargue. Along with the medieval cathedral and the Palace where Popes resided during their exile, Avignon has numbers of monumental buildings. The hotel is only a few steps from the lively Place de l'Horloge, the Pope's Palace and the railway station.
