| It was on a day in 1198 that a spring miraculously gushed out in the garden of a Spoleto convent by the hands of Pope Innocent III. Known since then as the holy wellspring, the waters were believed to have healing powers and for this reason, it was ordained that pilgrims could freely draw from the well. In 1601, the towns vice-governor arranged for the restoration of the spring and a tablet, which still remains today, was placed to serve as a memorial of the event. During the 19th century, a tannery was erected on the site. A fine work of architecture, the establishment fell into ruins after housing the business until the middle of the 20th century, when it was moved out of the towns historical centre. In 1993, Paolo Zuccari bought the building, restoring it to its former beauty and radically transforming its interiors. Today, Hotel San Luca is a small, charming hotel run by the Zuccari family. Elegant and sophisticated, it features a warm and familiar atmosphere. You will be totally wrapped up in the old ambience of this hotel and will find it hard to believe that most of what you see is new following the drastic changes made to the inside of the building during the restoration. As you enter the hotel, freshness and brightness will surround you: the natural light filters through the arcade that opens into the central courtyard and reflects on the rooms pastel walls. The hall is furnished with comfortable peach armchairs arranged around an 18th century fireplace, and with antique pieces that add to the warmth, making you feel right at home. Two canaries occupy an antique birdcage, which blends nicely with the background of pastel colours from the striking collection of 19th century tureens on display. Rooms are spacious, colourful, soundproof, and extremely clean, filled with amenities and featuring 2 meter-wide double beds. The large bathrooms are faced with Carrara marble, some offering whirlpool bathtubs and all including telephone, towel heater, and antifogging mirror. The hotel is air-conditioned and drapery- and carpet-free. The building complies with all the current regulations. |

| It was built in the XIV century in the place of same other old buildings, perhaps by the same owners, with the aim of renovating that part of the town. The Dragoni family, considered by Severo Minervio as 'a popular and illustrious family', became more and more important in Spoleto, thanks to the income they derived from agricolture and public administration. The family crest is ashield with three golden dragon heads on a red background and later changed to three green heads on a gold background. The Diotallevi family is now the owner of Dragoni Palace that is considered a 'Historic Residence' |
