In 1906 the Grand Hotel Timeo played host to Wilhelm II of Hohenzollern, Duke of Prussia and Emperor of Germany, to whom the hotel's prestigious Kaiser Suite id dedicated. Surrounded by a 25 thousand m2 park filled with cypress, olive, palm, magnolia, almond, mulberry, citrus and bouganvillea trees, this historic hotel is famous for its literary terrace, which has always been a preferred meeting place for illustrious guests: from here you can admire the snow-covered Mount Etna, the sea and the splendour of the Greek Theatre. All the exquisitely furnished rooms have balconies or terraces. The Suites - almost all of which have large terraces - bring to mind the magnificence of Sicilian Baroque without overpowering, thanks to the use of fresh colours and fabrics which provide an elegantly faded feel. Amongst these the Kaiser Suite, with its elegnat rooms and terrace of over 220 m2, where one can relive the splendour of aristocratic Sicily in the early days of the 20th century. The reception rooms, with their large windows looking out onto the terrace, are the idial place in which to do a little reading and they also provide an intimate, elegant and striking setting when in the evening the notes of the piano gently resound.
