It is situated 8 km along the coast from Funchal and close to the wonderful village of Caniço. The Hotel Dom Pedro Garajau is composed of six adjacent buildings, stretching over 300 metres along the street, with all sorts of local shops and bars opposite. Each building has three floors, with 104 Twin Rooms and 178 Twin Studios with kitchenette, plus the main building, which houses Reception (open 24 hours a day), the Tropical Restaurant, indoor pool, TV room, games room, Bar Caracalla and two meeting rooms.

In a quiet location and just 15min. from the Palheiro Golf or the capital Funchal, all of this makes the hotel a popular destination for holidays. In the foreground is the entrance to the reception area in the main building, behind which there is a large terrace with an outdoor swimming pool. Beneath the terrace is an indoor pool and a number of hotel rooms. All floors are served by a lift. The Galo bathing enclosure can be seen in the background marked by the lift tower. All the rooms have a direct or an angled view of the sea.

There is a breakfast room available, and all guests staying in Alpino Atlantico have free unlimited access to all the facilities at the Hotel Ondamar, Galomar and the sea platform Lido Galomar. We have a spa, sauna, indoor and outdoor pools, a lounge/bar, boutiques, a 24 hour front desk, currency exchange and free parking. We also offer a babysitting service upon request.

With only 41 double rooms and 5 single rooms, most with sea -view and balcony, the hotel atmosphere is more intimate with furnishings in a traditional Madeiran style. The majority of our regular guests come specially for the diving facilities which are easily reached via the beach lift near the hotel. Our diving base has now twice been designated as the best on the Atlantic in the journal 'Diving'. Guests from Hotel Galomar automatically benefit from a price advantage as they take meals together with the guests in the adjoining 4 star Hotel Ondamar. Naturally the sport facilities, animation programme and health club amenities are also available for use

There is an a la carte restaurant, a heated indoor pool with jacuzzi, sauna and gymnasium, games and reading room, with cable TV and internet connection, with many more facilities besides. The Hotel Oasis Atlantic offers 224 beautifully furnished double rooms, studios and suites, all equipped with bathroom (incl. hairdryer), cable TV, direct dial telephone, central air conditioning & heating, mini-bar, background music and a private safe (to be rented). Studios and suites are also equipped with a kitchenette and a small fridge.
