A nostalgic tram, a public bus or other modern means of transportation take you 7 km west to the suburb of Belem, where the astounding Jeronimos Monastery with its fantastically eclectic architecture was erected by the river Tagus. A hint for the shopping enthusiasts: the most elegant boutiques are around Rossio Square. Mind the sizes, but style and quality are fantastic.</p>
