The Hostal Almanzor was founded more than 50 years ago, during which it has been renovated several times until now. It is one of the most remarkable hotels in Sierra de Gredos, since it preserves the traditional rural character at the same time as the emphasis on renovation and improvement. Our philosophy is to make our guests feel comfortable and to make them find the tranquillity, comfort and restful break that they are looking for. Apart from offering our guests more possibilities to enjoy the surrounding area where we are sited, we suggest tasting our delicious dishes. There are 10 rooms with an individual terrace made of wood and with a view over the mountains. There are 8 attic rooms with a beautiful view over the Gredos Mountains. And the other 9 rooms are situated at the back of the building where the sensation of peace is accompanied by the spectacular scenery of pine and fir trees. You will find a charming retreat in all our rooms. On the top of the building it is placed one of the three terraces. This is a terrace-solarium and measures 400 square meters. Another terrace is located in the garden among apple and lime trees. And the third one is an indoor terrace and is equipped with wicker furniture. Its walls are painted in red and it is very cosy.

The Hotel has a restaurant, bar and cafeteria with a terrace. It also has a TV lounge and a solarium terrace. The hotel has medical service, a gas station with a car wash, car rental and courier and fax service. The rooms have a full bath with a hydro-massage tub and direct telephone line. By means of soundproofed modules, the Gredos hall may be divided in turn into three separate halls. The capacities are ideal for holding medium and large-scale events. All the halls are equiped with audiovisual material including public adress system, connections for computers, fax and television. The Hotel also has slide projectors, transparency projectors, screens, backboards, hostess service, etc. Everything required to meet the needs of any type of event. The hotel also has a solarium terrace and some beautiful views of the city. A privileged site where you can admire the IX-Xth century walls. Avila is the best example of what was a walled city during Spain's Middle-Ages. Inside the city walls and the surrounding quarters, the churches, convents, impressive monuments and its narrow and winding streets make this spanish city a microcosm of spanish history and the Middle-Ages'way of life truly comes to life.

The small history of our Hotel is the one of a space long ago dedicated to the distillation and storage of the traditional anise the Zebra . For that reason we have maintained in its structure original elements of almost a used century of material antiguedad and traditional like the stucco, the wood, the forge and the ceramics in all its aspects... The Castrejón seems to recreate the spirit of a time at which the time has been allied of things so or done as to distill a good anise or to taste it. We invited to him to enter a place different and comfortable... to participate in our small history . We make its available 24 rooms equipped with complete bath, telephone television and heating. La Sayuela stands on a 10,000 square metres farmland which adjoins the Regional Park of Gredos, with all the strengh and splendour of the Sierra de Gredos on one side, and the valley of Tietar and La Vera on the other, creating spectacular sights from the house throughout the year. The rural house 'La Sayuela' is a ground floor building which has walls 60 cm wide made of stone on the outside and wood work on the outside and the inside, this makes it suitable for keeping coolness in the summertime and the warmth of the heating in winter. There are multiple leisure activities you can achieve: guided equestrian routes, canoeing, observing protected fauna, playing golf, fishing, hunting.
