The Ascot House was originally built in 1892 by Mr W H Baxter as a traditional Victorian family residence. It has now been elegantly transformed into a 19-bedroom hotel. Colin and Brenda Grant offer a warm Scottish welcome to holiday visitors and conference delegates to our attractive, friendly and comfortable no smoking home. We are small, privately owned and run by ourselves, offering twelve individually decorated bedrooms. VisditBritain Four Diamond classifation, centrally located opposite the International Conference Centre, with a short stroll to the town centre, the bus and train stations. We have our own private free car park next to the hotel, and look forward to offering you the facilities you expect, but with a homely and friendly atmosphere. The bedrooms all non-smoking, all en-suite, some with a bath and shower, all with complimentary toiletries, are decorated to a very high standard. There has been a manor house on this site since the mid 15th century and was previously the home of Bishop Benson and his monks. It came into the ownership of Henry V111 in the middle of the 16th century during the period of the dissolution of the monasteries and, as a reward for his leading involvement in this work, the house was gifted to the Inman family.
