Chombeys is a comfortable house on 3 floors, with gas central heating throughout. The bedrooms are good sized. They all have tea and coffee making facilities and colour television. There is a separate lounge available to guests. Breakfasts - served from 7-9 a.m. - feature local produce and are cooked on an Aga. Chombeys prides itself on giving good service and tries to accommodate any special requirements that guests may have.

The property was built in 1890. Originally it was a family home and joinery business. It was then purchased by the Trapp family and became a town dairy, selling milk, ice-cream and Yorkshire curd. Built in 1732, the Inn was used as a recruiting post during the Napoleonic Wars. An iron plaque of the Duke of Wellington was recently uncovered on the outside of the building and has been mounted on the fireplace in the bar.Restoration and refurbishment has improved the facilities whilst maintaining the character and charm of this traditional country inn.
